In statehouses across the country, policymakers are facing difficult budget decisions. To fill historic deficits, many are resorting to severe cuts in Medicaid benefits or provider rates that undermine access to needed health care for America's most vulnerable families
But there's a better way to save money on Medicaid.
Community Catalyst's Medicaid Report Card is a webtool that identifies four policies that achieve needed savings while maintaining or even improving patient care through Medicaid. For each policy, this tool provides a concise summary of the evidence for cost-savings and quality-improvement, and identifies which states have and have not yet enacted it.
The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) has acted as the voice of private alcoholism and drug dependency treatment programs throughout the U.S. That voice has been heard time and time again – in Congress, in the insurance industry, in the utilization review arena and in the chemical dependency treatment field itself. NAATP has assumed a strong leadership role on behalf of treatment providers in areas such as treatment standards, education, research, and advocacy of legislative, regulatory and reimbursement positions supported by the field.
The National Association on Alcohol, Drugs and Disability Inc., (NAADD) promotes awareness and education about substance abuse among people with co-existing disabilities. The mission of NAADD is to create public awareness of issues related to alcoholism, drug addiction, and substance abuse faced by persons with other co-existing disabilities, and to provide a peer approach to enhance access to services, information, professional helping facilities such as a drug rehab, education and prevention through the collaborative efforts of interested individuals and organizations nationwide.
NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems by conducting and supporting research in a wide range of scientific areas including genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, health risks and benefits of alcohol consumption, prevention, and treatment.
