This is an introductory, 6-hour, no-cost workshop from NH Bureau of Drug & Alcohol Services on addiction designed to raise awareness and understanding of the dynamics and impact of addiction on people whom we serve.  It will cover the neurological basis of addiction; mental, behavioral, emotional and spiritual dimensions; stages of change; recovery; motivational techniques and resources. (5.5 CEUs)

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the neurological process of addiction
  • Explain how addiction manifests in various aspects of the whole person (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual)
  • Identify the 5 stages of change
  • Match intervention stratagies to stages
  • Access appropriate resources for addressing alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns

Lunch is an hour and "on your own."

Pre-registration is required as seating is limited.

LADC, Certified Prevention Specialist, and Social Worker CEU’s are available at no cost.
