You are invited to hear about bills we expect to encounter during the upcoming legislative session. Some are held over from last year. Others are brand new. Call in or join us at 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
b. Some Space Left in Community Leadership Initiative Retreats
New Futures is offering its signature advocacy training in December, March and April. Participate in a retreat and become an even more effective advocate to reduce underage alcohol problems and increase access to treatment in New Hampshire. www.new-futures.org/community-leadership-initiative.html
c. We Bid Farewell to Maria Gagnon
Maria Gagnon served as Director of the Adolescent Treatment Initiative (ATI) and Closing the Addiction Treatment Gap (CATG). In January, Maria will begin her new position as Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County.
d. Notes from New Futures President John Bunker
Congratulations to Friends of Recovery NH: We are excited to learn that Friends of Recovery NH has selected several new Board members. The new board chair is Lisa Peakes, also a member of the New Futures Board of Directors.
The New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has contracted for an evaluation of New Futures advocacy efforts in the past decade. Forty interviews conducted in November will be followed by on-line surveys in the next few weeks. Thanks in advance for your participation!
