Details:

Addiction is a chronic, physical and biochemical brain disorder with behavioral components.  When addiction is treated like other chronic disorders the outcomes can be even better than other diseases. There are people in NH right now who can’t get treatment because the system is overloaded, their insurance doesn’t cover it, or they can’t afford it privately. This session will provide a brief primer on the nature of addiction and an explanation of what treatment is.  In addition, partners will learn about barriers to accessing treatment in NH and advocacy work being done to alleviate the situation.

This advanced learning opportunity is available to those who have participated in New Futures or who are scheduled to do so.  Please email adminasst@new-futures.org to register.
